North South University is the 1st private university in Bangladesh, established by a group of philanthropists, industrialists, bureaucrats and academics. The government of Bangladesh approved the North South University in the year 1992 under Private University Act (PUA)-1992 (now replaced by PUA-2010).
The university was formally inaugurated on February 10 , 1993 by the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The honorable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is the Chancellor of North South University.

Admission Qualification for NSU BD
Qualification to get admission for Undergraduate programs at North South University:
– Combined GPA of 8.0 in both SSC & HSC with minimum GPA 3.5 in each examination.
GCE O-Level and A-Level:
O-level in 5 subjects with Average Grade Point of 2.5 or above & A-level in 2 subjects with Average Grade Point of 2.0 or above; in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=l. (One E is acceptable)
Requirements may be changed by NSU BD, anytime if there is a change in admission policy.
Acceptable scores in North South University admission test.
Admission test will be waived for those who have got a minimum score of 1200 in SAT (Math + Critical Reading) and at least 213 on the Computer Based Test (CBT) or 79 on the Internet Based Test (IBT) or 550 in the regular Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), a minimum score of 5.5 in the IELTS.
North South University Undergraduate Admission Test Procedure

- All students must bring one original photo ID (Passport /NID /HSC Registration Card

- All students must report at least 30 minutes before the admission test.
- Cell phone, digital watch, calculator, tab, camera and hand bag will not be allowed at the exam hall.
- All students should bring pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers etc.
Duration Admission Test of NSU BD
- A 2:30 hours Admission Test consisting of English grammar and vocabulary, Quantitative Aptitude (General Math), Reading comprehension and Composition.
– In addition, there will be a 30 minutes drawing test for the Bachelor of Architecture candidates.
– The Quantitative Aptitude part of the Admission Test requires the ability to solve SSC/O-levels math problems.
