This new leadership was elected during the AAAB’s recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Banani, which was presided over by outgoing President Ramendu Majumdar and conducted by General Secretary Munir Ahmed Khan. The meeting was attended by around 60 representatives from both established and emerging advertising agencies. Industry stalwarts like Geeteara Safiya Choudhury, Sara Zaker, and Kazi Wahidul Alam also joined the gathering. The meeting began with a moment of silence to honor the martyrs of the anti-discrimination movements and to pay tribute to industry icons Ali Zaker and Reza Ali.
The new committee is focused on key goals, including expanding AAAB’s membership base, improving its organizational structure, and promoting greater inclusivity within the advertising sector. As Bangladesh’s advertising industry has rapidly evolved since independence, AAAB aims to stay aligned with global trends, with a particular emphasis on the growing importance of digital media.
Looking ahead, the committee plans to enhance collaboration among agencies, engage with government stakeholders on industry-related issues, and support local agencies in exploring international markets. By expanding the industry’s reach, AAAB seeks to boost foreign currency earnings and elevate Bangladesh’s advertising talent on the global stage.
Founded in 1978, AAAB represents agencies across television, print, digital, event, outdoor, and activation advertising. Membership is open to directors or owners of registered advertising agencies in Bangladesh, fostering collective growth and advancement within the industry.
