Fifa World Cup 2014 Points In the group stage, each team of Fifa world cup 2014 will get 3 points for a win, 1 point for draw. Fifa introduced this point system to make each tournament more competitive and effective to get higher points then getting draw point. Group Champion teams and Group Runner-up team from each Group will play in the Round-16 stage. 16 teams will be eliminated in the group stage according to points. Then will start knockout system, Group A champion will face Group B Runner-up, Group A runner-up will face Group B champion. This rule is applicable for Group C & Group D and Group E & Group F.
