The World cup will be open for viewing of approximately 15 thousand ticket holders at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel for 2 days.

The pure 18-carat gold World cup trophy, weighing just over 6 kg and standing at 14.4 inches tall, arrived in Dhaka from United Arab Emirates on a chartered plane accompanied by a top class security protocol and Fifa officials.

The BFF President, along with Coca-Cola representatives, received the trophy after it landed at 12:25 noon at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The tour is a Coca-Cola initiative whereby the trophy travels around several countries to build up the anticipation for the 2014 soccer event in Brazil.

The trophy will depart Bangladesh for Bhutan on next Friday en-route to Nepal and India.

Bangladesh hosted a World Cup trophy for the first time, though it was a replica, in 2002.

However, this time the main trophy has arrived in Bangladesh.
